Review Ant-Man Marvel Studios
True I wouldn't say he's D-class, though I wouldn't say Antman is either, they're both in the C-classes based on their comicbook notoriety in my opinion. Though I think this film will be great. Marvel are certainly ruling the superhero film genre, I have no idea what Zack Snyder is currently doing with this forced shared universe in the upcoming DC films nor do I think it will rival Marvel though DC are certainly ruling the TV programming in my opinion.
This movie should have been called The Pyms. So many problems solved if Marvel had approached it that way;
1 Keeping one of the strongest married couple dynamics in comics and only the 2nd of two to even get on the big screen along with the FF4, which isn't very well done, and seeing that Lois and Clarke, Peter and Mary Jane have forever fallen by the wayside, this would be a very fresh perspective to use and explore.
2 Another needed strong female character. AND the first one to get leading lady status instead of waiting for many more years
3 Making up for the lack of Ant-man's solo star power and let's face it, respectability
4 Being truer to the comics, Wasp was also a founding Avenger
5 And FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY having both the giant and shrinking powers free to use, in this movie and sequels, instead of severely limiting all that potential for storytelling. Everyone is already used to small movies (Honey I Shrank the Kids, Fantastic Voyage, Inner Space, The Borrowers) and big movies ( Honey I Blew up the Kid, Attack Of The 50 foot Woman) but small and big in one movie would be novel. Ant-man is going to be Marvel's first failure since Incredible Hulk because of this oversight. Mark my words
